Background

Clinical Psychologist, Dr Fiona Morris has worked in various settings with children and families, most recently within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team (CAMHS) for four years. During this time Fiona worked with children and young people aged 5 to 18 with wide ranging emotional and behavioural difficulties including; anxiety and depression, OCD, phobias, eating disorders, and deliberate self harm. She also worked as part of the Family Therapy Team and is therefore used to working with families as a whole who are experiencing difficulties. Prior to working in CAMHS, Fiona has experience working in a specialist Eating Disorder in-patient unit, working in children’s homes with looked after children, and forensically in a Young Offenders Institution as well as working in adult mental health teams.

Fiona is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)

Areas of Specialist Experience

Fiona specialises in assessment and therapeutic work with children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has worked with children, adolescents and their families for 13 years in a variety of settings.

Fiona also has specialist experience working with young people with disordered eating and those diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia.

Therapeutic Approach

Fiona believes that a collaborative approach is especially important when working with young people and looks to explore difficulties and make sense of experiences together with the child, and their family. Fiona offers a safe and empathetic environment for young people to address their current difficulties, whilst drawing on evidence based therapeutic approaches to alleviate distress.
