Areas of Specialist Experience
Katie has a particular interest in working with people living with long-term physical health conditions. She is experienced in supporting not only individuals themselves, but also their families and wider support networks. Katie also supports people experiencing loss and grief and understands how significantly these experiences can affect relationships and emotional wellbeing.
Katie provides assessment and intervention for a broad spectrum of psychological difficulties, including low mood, anxiety disorders (such as phobias, obsessive-compulsive difficulties, generalised anxiety and social anxiety), post-traumatic stress disorder, and eating disorders. Katie also offers support for people experiencing workplace-related challenges such as stress, burnout, and trauma related to work roles.
Therapeutic Approach
Katie draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Her approach is collaborative and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience. Katie prioritises building strong therapeutic relationships, bringing compassion and curiosity to understand an individual’s current circumstances, and what matters most to them. Katie believes that fostering a compassionate understanding of psychological difficulties is central to meaningful and sustainable change.
