Dr Katherine Baly
Dr Katherine Baly is a Clinical Psychologist with fifteen years experience providing psychological therapy in the NHS, the charity sector and in higher education. Katherine is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and is a chartered member of the British Psychology Society. She is registered with the insurance providers BUPA, AXA PPP, and Vitality.
Areas of Specialist Experience
Katherine’s background in adult community mental health teams and as a psychologist in a university setting has provided her with specialist experience in with working with adults affected by low mood, stress, depression and anxiety. Katherine has undertaken additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy) which is one of the recommended treatments for symptoms associated with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Katherine draws on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches. She integrates these approaches in a tailored way for each individual whilst recognising the central importance of the relationship between therapist and client. This relationship sets the context for a safe, collaborative exploration of how a person’s experiences may have led them to where they are now, whilst identifying what has been keeping things the same and what might facilitate change. Katherine recognises the powerful relationship between mind and body and takes an holistic approach to wellbeing.
